No Wheels Changes Both Quote And Recovery
Vehicles with no wheels left need more planning than ordinary non-runners. A car with four flat tyres may still roll with effort. A car resting on blocks, stands, bare hubs or the ground is a different job. It cannot simply be steered into line or pushed onto a truck.
If the vehicle is in High Bentham and has already been stripped, say so before the quote is confirmed. Missing wheels often come with other removed parts, and those details can affect both the offer and the loading method.
Describe Exactly What Is Missing
Do not just say the wheels are off. Say whether all four are missing, only the fronts are missing, tyres are gone but rims remain, or the car is sitting on damaged suspension. Mention if hubs, brakes, battery, panels, engine parts or interior pieces have also been removed.
Photos make this much easier. Take one image from each corner, plus a wider shot showing what the vehicle is resting on. If the car is low to the ground, blocked by a wall or tilted, include that. The driver needs to know whether the car can be lifted, skated, dragged or approached only from one side.
Protect The Ground Around The Vehicle
A wheel-less car can scrape, dig in or damage surfaces if the recovery plan is wrong. Tarmac, concrete, block paving, gravel and soft ground all behave differently. If you care about the surface, mention it early and send photos.
If the car is in a yard, behind a garage or on a private drive, clear as much working room as possible. Move loose wheels, spare parts, bins, timber, tools and other vehicles. The driver should not be expected to clear a dismantling area before starting the loading job.
Proof And Permission Still Matter
Stripped cars can raise extra questions because they may no longer look like a normal vehicle. Be ready to show who can release it and what paperwork or proof exists. If the V5C is missing, gather other records, registration details and clear permission before arranging collection.
If someone else removed the wheels, explain whether they are available or gone. If the vehicle belongs to a family member, customer or former tenant, settle permission before booking. A car without wheels is hard enough to move without adding doubt about who approved the removal.
Match The Pickup To The Real Vehicle
The best quote conversation is direct: this is the registration, these wheels are missing, this is what the car rests on, these parts have been removed, this is the access route, and this is who will meet the driver. That gives the buyer a real job to plan.
Vehicles with no wheels left can still be discussed for scrap collection, but they should never be described as a normal non-runner. The more accurate the first description, the less chance of a failed collection, changed quote or avoidable driveway problem.
If spare wheels are nearby, say whether they can be fitted or loaded separately. Loose parts should not be assumed usable without checking.
